new years resolutions

I am officially in my "late twenties". I turned 26 this weekend.

With time ticking in every arena in my life this is just the time to take a look at my life, my goals and my issues and get on it, or get over it.

The following are a number of ideas I have for my new years resolutions

  • Accept the aging process - yes, my body is decaying and my chances of baby making grow slimmer each day. but hey, it could be worse, I could be a zombie
  • Stop treating myself like I am poor - I was raised by hippies which meant, to want something was to be materialistic and selfish. As such, I have a fear of spending money on anything but food.
  • Learn to tell stories better - i love it when people tell great stories that have nuggets of wisdom.
  • Try 40 days of yoga
  • Lose 25lbs - yes we all say this and then don't do it. but really, if I can't have a great body when I am 26 when can I have one?
  • Lower my debt to less then $5000 - Last year I reduced my debt from 14,000 to just under $8500 so only a few more dollars to do
  • Learn to play the piano - a few years ago I dropped some debt into buying a piano...still haven't really played it, maybe this is the year
  • Meditate daily
  • Let go of anxiety - a daily issue of mine
  • Become a fastidious cleaner - so my house can look like one in a magazine
  • Learn to sew - i got a sewing machine for my birthday, its probably time
  • Become more self-disciplined - I dont even know where to start with that one
  • Take a university class - Check! I have signed up for one for thursday
  • Develop stronger confidence and belief in my ability and path
This is probably a good start. I'll sit on this awhile before I decide which items I will commit to.

sigh. I am in the latter group. But may soothe my pain my starting a burlesque group.
Great goals! x
